While dining at a restaurant, our client was injured when a chair collapsed as he was being seated, causing him to fall to the floor. He sustained injuries to his shoulder, back, neck, hips, and wrists, and the incident aggravated a pre-existing back condition. Our attorneys secured a $225,000 settlement. 

A child was injured at a daycare facility after falling from a rolling stool and sustaining a deep cut under their chin. Concerns were raised regarding inadequate supervision and ongoing safety issues at the facility. Our attorneys secured a $47,500 settlement for the child and family. 

Our client was leaving a retail store when a security guard wrongfully accused them of shoplifting and used physical force, tackling them and causing painful bruises and abrasions. Our attorneys secured a $300,000 settlement. 

In late 2022 our firm recovered $275,000 for a client who injured her leg when she partly fell through a wooden staircase outside the back door of her apartment building.  The management company failed to file an Answer to the Complaint, but later hired an attorney to set aside the default, blaming the insurance company for not filing an Answer.  Although Courts usually open default, our lawyers Justin Oliverio and Bruce Millar were able to successfully argue in both the Trial Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals that the management company had failed to check to be certain its insurance company had filed an Answer.  Once our firm won the Appeal, the insurance company wrote a large check. 

Our firm negotiated a settlement of over $450,000 for a child who was injured when a hotel room television fell on him. In this case, the hotel had placed an old 32-inch picture-tube TV on a small chest of drawers. When the child opened the top drawer, the entire cabinet and television tipped over onto him. Our firm filed suit and retained a furniture safety expert, whose investigation showed that the hotel violated industry and safety standards, helping secure a substantial settlement.

In the fall of 2022 our firm successfully recovered over $425,000 for a child injured when a large television overturned on him in a hotel room.  The hotel tried to blame the child and his parents for pulling the television over.  Our firm hired a commercial furniture expert to analyze the incident.  The expert determined that the television was not properly secured and was too large, so that when the child opened a drawer, the TV and dresser became unsteady and toppled over. 

In the spring of 2020 our office recovered $250,000 for an out-of-town visitor who was injured at a major Atlanta hotel chain when the chair she sat in collapsed.  The incident happened when she sat in a chair in the business center.  We were able to prove that the chair had become damaged while in-use by others at the Hotel and should have been inspected and removed from service before our client was allowed to use it.

Our client was sitting in a chair at the Atlanta Sheraton. The chair collapsed while our client was sitting in it, resulting in a long term serious knee injury. Our client had to have knee surgery performed. Our lawyers were able to prove that the chair was unsafe for anyone. It resulted in victory for our client.
