Attention Young Georgians:
Create a Public Service Announcement Warning Teens of the Dangers of Underage Drinking and Win a College Scholarship
Underage drinking poses a serious public safety hazard to young people in Georgia. Every year we hear about families who have lost teenagers to alcohol-related accidents. To raise awareness of the dangers of underage drinking and give some deserving young people a helping hand, Millar & Mixon, LLC is sponsoring the first annual Dangers of Underage Drinking Public Service Announcement Scholarship Contest.
Our law firm will award scholarships of $2,000, $1,000 and $500 to 2015 to graduating seniors and rising freshmen in Georgia colleges and universities who create catchy, original video announcements communicating the dangers of underage drinking to your fellow students. The videos should be clever, and not contain images that are graphic or disturbing.
To take part in the scholarship contest, you’ll need to submit a 30-second video public service announcement. We’re looking for fresh ideas to communicate the dangers of underage drinking.
The deadline for submitting entries is April 1, 2015.

Millar & Mixon LLC will provide the following awards to winners of our Scholarship contest. Our review committee will determine the First Place and Second Place winners.
- 1st Place: $2,000 scholarship
- 2nd Place: $1,000 scholarship
Honorable Mention: $500 scholarship for video that receives most Social votes
The cash prizes will be awarded in the form of a check from the law firm of Millar & Mixon LLC and the money is to be used to pay for education related expenses.
You must submit your completed application and 30-second video by 11:59 p.m. EDT on April 1, 2015.
All video submissions become the property of Millar & Mixon, LLC to distribute and reproduce at its discretion.
The entrants agree that Millar & Mixon, LLC will have permission to use their image and the video for marketing purposes.
The Dangers of Underage Drinking PSA video contest is open to rising high school seniors in Georgia and rising college freshmen enrolled at a four-year college or university in Georgia.
Applicants will send a completed downloadable application, head shot photo and 30-second video to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please confirm that you have read and understand the Millar & Mixon Scholarship Contest by submitting a signed application form.
If a video submission involves more than one person in the creation of the video, the applicant should be only one person associated with the video. If that video wins the scholarship competition, the award associated with the video goes to the sole applicant who provided the submission.
The Dangers of Underage Drinking PSA video entries will be uploaded to YouTube. Each entry will have its own page featuring the embedded video, head shot and brief bio.
Visitors can login on the atlantaadvocate.com/scholarship page and vote for their favorite video. Use the #SoberGaScholarship when sharing your favorite video through social media.
The contest entrant whose video receives the most social votes will win the Honorable Mention $500 scholarship.
